Matched by Ally Condie

Matched by Allie Condie is one of those books the pulls you in and you can't forget about it even when you've read every word. It's about a "perfect" society in a time in the distant future. The Officials choose everything; what job you have, where you live, who you love and marry, and even when you die. Cassia, has never gone against the rules of the Society and views her life as perfect. She just turned 17 meaning that she has been Matched; the Society has chosen who she will marry and it happens to be her best friend Xander. She can't think of a more wonderful Match. When she views the picture of Xander on the futurist computer device, she sees his face but the screen turns black and another face appears for only a moment. It is Ky, a mysterious boy that is destined to never be Matched. This makes her notice him more and they create an unbreakable friendship. Ky begins to show her that the perfect world of theirs isn't so perfect. As she learns more about Ky, the more she doubts the Society and the more she begins to fall for him. Now she must choose between keeping her "perfect" life or a life with Ky.

-Pages: 384
-Age: 14 and up (slightly disturbing descriptions, no inappropriate content, but younger readers may not enjoy it as much since it's through the eyes of older characters)
-Reader Type: romantic, futuristic
-Our Rating: This book was amazing! We couldn't put it down just wondering what would happen to the two lovers and what next would come to get in the way of their relationship. It makes you happy that we have lives like we have and shows that perfection isn't always the best.
